Team culture, run like software — with the guardrails built in from day one

Engagement OS gives you recognition shoutouts, a cross-department lunch roulette, a full sports-day/event toolkit with DNA-balanced teams, points seasons, and a quiz league — all wrapped in rules that keep it fair, voluntary, and honest about what actually moved.

Praise never earns pointsAlways voluntaryTeam-pool, never a public ranking

What's inside

  • Shoutouts — specific, real praise for a colleague (what they did, why it mattered) — with zero points or reward attached, ever.
  • A private equity view for managers — who hasn't been recognized lately, visible only to them, never a public shame board.
  • DNA Lunch Roulette — a blind, cross-department pairing for lunch; identities only reveal once both sides opt in.
  • Activity OS — turn a sports day, townhall, walk rally, or company outing into a real checklist with due dates and roles, plus a DNA Team Balancer that auto-splits people into fair, mixed-department teams.
  • Points seasons and an accuracy-only quiz league — team-pool scoring with a rotating theme, not a personal leaderboard.
  • Honest micro-pulse measurement — a couple of quick questions around an event, reported straight, including when there isn't enough data to say anything meaningful.

How a sports day or event actually comes together

  • Pick a template — sports day, townhall, walk rally, outing, and more — and it generates a real checklist with due dates and assigned roles.
  • Add your roster; the DNA Team Balancer splits everyone into cross-department teams, each with a fair mix of strengths — never by guesswork, and it can explain why a team looks the way it does.
  • Run the day with a live scoring board — with a non-athletic lane (scoring, photography, judging) for anyone who'd rather not compete physically.
  • Close on a shared, company-wide goal — not a single team crowned over everyone else.
The sports-day event page — run of show, checklists, and a story field that pulls real recognitions for the host to read out on stage
The DNA Team Balancer splitting sports day into 3 teams, mixing departments and spreading the strong dimensions across all of them, with a note on how many dimensions from how many departments each team covers
The game-station library — tug of war, water relay, egg toss — each with rules and safety notes, plus an automatically calculated station rotation schedule

The rule behind everything: points for play, praise for workA shoutout can never earn points, and points can never be given for doing your job, helping a teammate, or hitting a KPI — mixing the two is the one thing evidence says backfires, so this system simply won't let it happen.Participation is genuinely optional everywhere: no attendance report reaches a manager, nothing is held against you for sitting one out. And anyone on a PIP, on leave, or otherwise flagged is automatically kept out of pairing and games — never invited in by mistake.

The event-day scoreboard — one shared company-wide goal, plus per-station, spirit and creativity scores broken out, with per-head scoring
The points season — a per-head team leaderboard, missions, and the company-knowledge quiz

Honest by design, not just by promise

  • Every event picks its one metric to watch before it starts — no digging for a good-looking number afterward.
  • Results are reported straight, including small or unclear effects — and hidden outright when the group answering is too small to mean anything.
  • Rankings are always team-pool or personal-best, adjusted for team size — never a single company-wide list with everyone's name on it.
  • What we'll actually tell you it's for: getting to know people you don't normally work with, being recognized for real work, and growing — not a promise that any of this reduces turnover on its own.

How to try it

  • Open Engagement OS and send a shoutout — a real one, specific enough that the person knows exactly what you noticed.
  • Opt in to DNA Lunch Roulette if you'd like to meet someone new — opt out just as easily, any time.
  • Managers: check your private recognition view, and plan an event with the Activity OS template picker.
  • Join a season quiz — no points for speed, so a careful answer counts the same as a fast one.

Why this is built differentlyMost engagement tools chase a big one-time spectacle and call it culture. This one treats a sports day as a real piece of software with checklists and fair teams, treats praise as something that should never be bought with points, and tells you plainly when an effect is too small to claim credit for. The vehicle is the activity — the actual ingredient is people being seen, recognized fairly, and never pressured into any of it.
